“Unemployment — and particularly, long-term unemployment — continue to negatively impact far too many Californians in the aftermath of the Great Recession,” he said. “Many unemployed individuals have found themselves confronted by a cruel Catch-22, as employers have told them that they had to have a job to be qualified to apply for a job. AB 1450, in its original form, would have helped eliminate that Catch-22. The bill that the Governor vetoed would have barely scratched the surface.”
